Home Cooking
Reflecting back on my frist two years at UCLA, I would definitely say that Christian Sudents has been a big part of my life. Coming from a tight-knit community where I had known everyone, I was taken aback by all of the unfamiliar faces and different clubs and opportunities that flooded me everyday from Bruinwalk.
Keeping my faith and finding a group of people that shared my love for Christ seemed challenging at first, but after I joined Christian Students I realized that I had found my community and that I had a big family. The weekly Bible studies helped me turn to the Lord and really learn more about His word. I also really appreciated going to small group on friday nights. That was one of the highlights of my week freshman year. Home cooked food instead of the "Hometown Buffet" aka Casa de Covel...
After you meet and get to know some of the people involved in the club and the families that support it, you just can't help but feel that God is so real and He's just awesome.
You just have to come with an open heart and when He touches you, you will never really be quite the same again. It doesn't matter if you say Amen once, twice or a thousand times all you really need to know is that we're all here to love and serve Him. I mean I'm just one out of 35,000 people at UCLA but I can say for sure that my life has meaning and direction.
